A Little Bit About Me
A scientist and a seeker.
I'm a registered physical therapist, neuroscience researcher (PhD candidate at the University of Waterloo), and HeartMath Certified Practitioner. I bring together clinical experience, peer-reviewed research, and lived experience to translate what we’re learning about the nervous system into practices anyone can use.
This site is where I share what I'm learning through writing, video, guided practice, and honest pondering.

Registered Physical Therapist (MScPT), PhD Candidate, MScKIN, BSc
Formal Training
I graduated from the University of Toronto as a registered physical therapist in 2013, and then worked in a sports medicine clinic for 5 years before starting my own practice in 2018, where I focused on a neurofunctional approach to treatment. I had previously completed an Msc at the University or waterloo in 2011, where my thesis examined the efficiency of skeletal muscle metabolism.
The main driver behind these various degrees is that l've always been deeply curious about how the body works and that curiosity only expands and transforms the more I learn. It has evolved into a personal transformation and my complete awe at the mind-body-spirit connection.
Research & Writing
My experience, previous learning, clinical work, and personal ponderings led me to continue my formal education as a PhD Candidate at the University of Waterloo, where I'm currently investigating the modulatory effect of emotional state on the relationship between the autonomic and somatic nervous systems during balance reactions and postural control.
My most recent work as an author can be found in Frontiers in Neurology, with a review paper titled "Emotional state as a modulator of autonomic and somatic nervous system activity in postural control." In the past few years l've been focused on translating knowledge about the mind-body connection to health-care practitioners, students in training programs, and the public, through education sessions, webinars, articles, and other platforms.
Personal Practice
I'm passionate about personal transformation and embodying my truth. It's been an incredible journey so far, and l've learned about so many practices that bring well-being, joy, freedom, wholeness, love, and vibrancy (among many others) into life.
I LOVE learning about the science behind these techniques as well, and I'm excited to share the insight l've gathered. Experiencing the balance, regulation, change, growth, connection, embodiment, and flow that come with each practice and how that spills into all aspects of life leaves me in awe every day.
Mom life
I also have the absolute pleasure and fortune of being a mom. I have learned so much from my little guy I can't even put into words how grateful I am for this little guru of mine.
